I understand there is a base model I35 and a Sport model, but how does one go about telling which is which? I know one's got the nav system and Ive seen a few with the rear spoiler, but is there a way to tell which is which?MattB wrote:Wow, nice black on black I35 Sport. That's a rare car you have. I looked for almost 6 months for one of those to no avail.
The easiest way to ID a sport package car like yours is the 8-spoke wheels which are unique to the sport cars. The rear spoiler was an option for both I35 and I35 sport models as was navigation (nav is very rare). Sport package cars also have a VDC switch instead of the standard TCS switch and the original floormats should say "sport" on them.ZGadson wrote:

Mine has a VDC swith and 8 spoke rims! Is that significant of a Sport model?MattB wrote:

The ES300 was bought new in 1993 by my dad and I bought it off him for a grand. I only drove it for less than a year, but I think if I had the option (when the Infiniti is paid off) I'd get another ES300 but a 1999 or 2000 model with less miles. It was such a great car but the failing suspension forced me to trade it in. I really do miss it.vish09 wrote:375K thats nuts did you own it all its life? My dad traded his 00 ES for a 06 M35, what a change in sportiness and power.
Don't feel bad about it. For fun to drive the A33 is a superior car to the ES300. I had a choice between the I30 and a 2001 ES300. I went and drove the ES300. Then I went and bought the I30, it's a much more fun car to drive. The ES is a great car, but it makes no pretense at being sporty. The I30/I35 does. The Lexus sound system isn't anything special either unless you have the optional Nakamichi system.vish09 wrote:my dad was unreasonable and sold his 00 to his BROTHER for 13K should have saved it it was a lovely car. I am young so i relly loved the great lexus sound system, one of the best IMO. NEver had anything at all replaced besides excellent lexus maint.EDIT: only had 60K on it tooo............bummer I am almost 16 now he sold it MAR 06
