you run a pretty good risk of not having good compression when rebuilding an engine with stock bore. Much better idea to get slightly oversized pistons and get the block bored and honed to guarantee a good seal.

People do get just new rings and hone the block to them, you know. Why get new pistons when you don't have to?

re-ring with std pistons and new rings is ok, but will not last nearly as long or perform as well compared to a fresh bore. Its worth the few extra bucks to get it bored and new pistons. Also with forged pistons in std bore after a full hone you will be on the wide end of the piston tolerance, fighting piston fit, noise, and ring seal. Your in there already so do it right.

you are ruining my day! lolI don't wanna buy new pistons and get the block bored, that's extra $$ I don't have.
