Well i found somone one that will port and polish engine for free...my friend is in an auto club...but i'd like to change the pistons well its open...would it be a good idea to switch the cams at the same time or not necessary... i want to stay with the KA not super and turbo charged .

The pistons. what would be a good set...or should i just change compression if so how and what is done to do this. And what is the most reliable. Thanks i know this is retarded reliability and performance but Like the 300ZX TT project SCC i love reliability and performance.thanksMatt

You raise and lower the compression by doing one of the following: Different pistons with a dome, dish, or flattop, Thinner headgasket, shaving the head, lowering the deck on the block. If you want to swap pistons I have a set of 10.5:1 compression pistons for the KA24DE. It is a good idea to change cams at the same time, but it isnt necessary.

get new pistons and cams.. then get some oversized valves, 5 angle valve job, a custom header, custom intake manifold, standalone engine management, hours of dynotuning, CF driveshaft, lightweight flywheel, 6puck clutch, dog cut transmission gears...

of course these things work! they're not cheap tho. if you have bottomless pockets, then do everything.

the real question is how much money do you have, and are willing to spend? its a "good idea" to do everything you can when the engines open, as it saves a huge amount of time an hassle.

for the normal person, the ~$500 for new pistons is a pretty heavy dent in the pockets.

How reliable are the pistons that you have for sale....

also how does this sound....doing the port and polish and all the match porting and the cams at the same time would i have to get the standalone...i'd rather stay away from that from that...thanks after i get these things

in about a 6months to a year i will do the intak, exhaust.

But before all of this i will be doing the diff and brakes as well as tires and suspension...i love control before power. thanks

Feedback welcomed

you do port and polish and high lift/duration cams and youve improved your flow dramatically, but if you dont do intake and exhaust and headers how do you think you will be able to flow better
