get new pistons and cams.. then get some oversized valves, 5 angle valve job, a custom header, custom intake manifold, standalone engine management, hours of dynotuning, CF driveshaft, lightweight flywheel, 6puck clutch, dog cut transmission gears...
of course these things work! they're not cheap tho. if you have bottomless pockets, then do everything.
the real question is how much money do you have, and are willing to spend? its a "good idea" to do everything you can when the engines open, as it saves a huge amount of time an hassle.
for the normal person, the ~$500 for new pistons is a pretty heavy dent in the pockets.
