There are many pistons available for KAs...

You can check out our sponsors such as boostdesigns.another good site for KA is phat-kat

The stock rod is good for something like 400+HP... I think it was Ivan who reached the limit of the stock rods and bent it at around 400 hp... cant remember the exact number.

I thought that is what he is running right now with aftermarket rods...

I remember where he put a thread called "Stock rods limit reached" IIRC, it was around 400hp... no?

EDIT: zerothread?id=102072 found the thread... its 502 WHP. And also he was running 30+psi so it was probably alot more than that... Ivans just crazy like that....

nah he was running 502rwhp, maybe a bit more, but to be safe the stock rods will do 400rwhp.

If you go with aftermarket piston, I think stock rods wont work fit anyways.

There are several aftermarket pistons which offer the same wrist pin diameter and rod length.

Most aftermarket pistons WILL fit stock rods...as long as the piston is designed for a stock length rod, and stock size wrist pin...which most are.

what about rod bearings? Boostdesigns has the first set ive seen for the KA. What is everyone els running? Also, boostdesigns doesnt say if their pistons are oversized or anything. does anybody know?

Also, Do the pistons use the same sized wrist pins? Thanks

Supertech Pistons $450.00 You have to specify what you want. You need to take your engine to the machine shop and let them tell you what size you need.

As for bearings, Clevite 77 tri-metal are the standard by which others are judged and at a quarter the price. And yes, they make them for the KA.

I was gonna try that... until I blew my engine the first time cause of ****ty SBC instructions. Would have been foolish to rebuild with stock everything

SuperTech pistons is what I am gonna go for. 9:1 compression ratio, but I am wondering if you can get them in the stock bore?
