pistons and rods or not?

Ok I have done some research and have read many different things on when someone should start replacing internals. I plan to make 400whp but will be content with a little less. I know there are all these drag cars that have 550whp on a stock bottom end but my car will be almost daily driven. I was looking at eagle rods b/c I don't want to spend a lot of money on something that isn't necessarily needed but hear they have a bad name and people would rather have stock rods than eagle. So what I really want to know is how many people make ~400hp and have stock pistons/rods?
