Got out my breaker bar to turn it by hand and it wouldn't budge and then came free. Pulled the plugs and cylinder 3 & 4 had standing water. I'll be tearing it back down and ordering another head gasket

Yes, I would say luck is not on your side. Get a new gasket and dont f*** it up this time.

Alright, so 86mm x 0.045" head gasket. Is this ideal for stock bore and everything? Everything I've read says it will be fine, but I want some confirmation from someone with more experience. Some say 1.1mm is the stock thickness, but some say it isn't.

I always thought it was more than 1mm but do not take my word for it. owell, slightly higher compression :)

To be honest, I'm not sure. I bought the hg and the ARP head studs off a guy here on Nico brand new and he said they were factory bore size

The headgasket specs are fine. Factory is 86mm x 1.1mm (.043")

Would I see any benefits going up a size?
