ok I ordered a piston from phase 2 (oem one) cus one of mine had cracked, and I got a 75f stamped on the top of it. I just realized that the ones in my motor have 54c. what does this mean and can i use the 75f? will it be terribly out of balence? i'm not trying to kill these bearings after 10k miles or anything

Im not 100% sure on your piston, but when I ordered a single rod from The NISMO shop the weight difference was so great compared to my originals that my machinist could not balance the set making the rod useless. I hope your experience with replacing just one piston turns out better then mine.

blah gay. I might end up calling the machine shop or trying to get the pistons weighed at one of my school's chem labs. but i have a feeling it's going to be really unbalenced.

where do i find information on how to gap the cp rings? i've looked over google and nico and haven't found anything useful

also, for installing the cp pistons in the stock bore, do I need to make sure the piston clearence is within spec with cp's manual? I know the piston expands more than the oem one so I can imagine the clearence being larger than stock. is this something they already take into account when they make the piston and something I don't have to worry about?

ok i did some more research and thinking and i think i basicaly answered my own question. there are three grades to the piston, 1, 2, and 3. i don't know much else beyond that other than i ordered a 1 and i need a 2
