piston rings???

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

Need some info on new piston rings? Had a misshap with a palm pilot monitoring device that resulted in two piston rings bad, I have read here on a few post but never could confirm what set exactly are stronger than stock rings? A few post said that Altima rings are much stronger anyone can give anymore info on this thanks, have get the new rings in asap...Thanks...

Get the Altima rings. They seat the best and cost next to nothing. In 99 Nissan started using chrome.

Your local Nissan dealer should be able to help you. :D

Make sure you tell the machinist you have these rings because the cylinder walls need to be bored with a different hone.

bah nissan means I pay twice what its worth.already have to stop by to get a new piston oil squirter anyway.

I keep hearing that these are better than stock, but how much better? Anyone have a good guess at how much more hp/strain you can put on your motor with these over stock rings? Thanks.

NM I ordered a set from courtesy, 54 shipped.

piston squirters are 144 a set, I said forget that.

I told you guys they were cheap. They are still a stock rings but the thing about them is they are made of chromolly steal and for that reason they are stronger but how strong is yet to be determined.

I know I spelled that wrong! :oface

You sure you have bad rings ? If you haven't tore it down yet, I'm willing to bet it is the ring lands of the pistons that failed, not the rings themselves...

Yea, but if you're gonna be in there, might as well replace the rings too. Usually the oil ring will break, but the compression rings can stay intact.

what size are the altima rings? how much are they? will they fit a KA24E?
