hello nico guys I have a question about putting the sohc pistons in a ka24de 240sx. I bought some sohc pistons and I know the trucks used press in piston pins. And i see in the fsm for the 240(dual cam) it shows that the pins also have to be pressed in/out but they have the c clips also.

Anyway i just want to make sure they sent me the right ones because they didn't come with the clips. It looks like they have the groove for the clip on one side but i guess the the pin is not pressed in far enough to see on the other side. Is there a way to tell the difference between the truck and car pistons? Here's a couple pics...

also does anyone have any tips on disassembling/reassembling the piston/rods at home or a good thread with pics(i searched but couldn't find any)? I was thinking i should just have a shop swap the new pistons onto the rods but i live in out in BFE and theres not really any engine rebuild places around here...

and can i or should i reuse the c clips from my old pistons?
thanks

Not sure about the first part of the question, as I'm not familiar with this engine, but I've seen people use heat on the piston (torch or something similar) and chill the pins in ice water, and it'll slide in easier.

I would take them to a machine shop. Those rods and pistons need to be baked to somewhere around 300 degrees F to press the pins in. Not something that you want to do on your own.
