anyone remember the old forums? well i used to have a dohc running with sohc pistons in it, and i wanna do the same thing again.I need the part numbers for the flattop sohc pistons that ran in the older truck KA's (the higher CR pistons than the 240). Maybe Nistech or one of the moderators got 'em. Oh and the circlip numbers too. Thanx.

not I. I dont memorize part #'s and most of the guys in my parts department are buttholes. but if I can get in there when they wander off I can look them up myself seeins how I taught myself with some assistance how to look up parts in their system..he he he . what year D-21 are you reffering to? Give it to me I may be running down there on saturday to do some work on the caprice so I got a better chance of getting on the system since there is only one parts guy there.

i think its an 88, if such a year existed. (prolly did im just a tool) LOL. Wish we could check on the CR from those years with the part no. What i do remember is that the year had 8.6 to 1 CR.

yea 88 had a 2.4 but it was a z motor not a ka. i think they started ka in 89 or 90. there are several part numbers for the 4 pistons. there are 3 posible grades available. depending on your cyl diameter. I can try to get them all if thats what your looking for.

Brandon do you search all my posts or what??? Did you ever buy parts from there when charlie was around?

I found some of the part numbers from demetrius, but im looking for the highest stock CR. I hope they will work with the DOHC im planning to put them in, but enough trial and error will find my perfect set. There was mention of a set that had higher, like 8.7 or 8.8. I dont want the 9.1's cause that would be like my last set, pushing the CR OVER 12 to 1 (i used to burn alot of oil).

Uhh, basically just give all the numbers <:)>

hey man didnt get up to the shop yesterday. I had to go inspect the damage to my sister-in-laws car after she hit a rottwiler(sp?).Damn those things can do some damage!! ripped the entire bumper off her car and crushed the condensor, radiator, shreaded the electric fan assembly, and crushed the trans cooler.

i'm kinda confused as to what you're looking for.

these part #s are for 89mm bore (8.6:1 sohc) (11.1:1 dohc)Quote »12010-30R10 std. grade 112010-30R11 std. grade 212010-30R12 std. grade 3
the 0.5mm overbore (8.7:1 sohc) (11.2:1 dohc)Quote »12010-30R72 oversized 0.50mm
the 1.0mm overbore (8.8:1 sohc) (11.3:1 dohc)Quote »12010-30R73 oversized 1.00mm
hope this helps.

he is looking for the first year truck KA24 engine piston part #s. I dont recall the exact prodate of the first year D-21 with a KA in it but I believe it was somewhere in 89 or 90. The early D-21 (86-88) was a Z24 engine. but the dates on change over I am not 100% sure on.
