There has been a lot of talk in the past about suitable pistons for the vh45 in either high comp or low comp.

I wanted to go over this again and find out what people have used in there builds.

I have contacted ACL here in Australia (owned now by german company Mahle) and they can custom forge a set of 8 pistons to exacting specs for $1300 AUD a set including rings.http://www.aclperformance.com.au/prod_p_hyperlite.htm

They make great gear I have used a set of there hyperlite forged race pitstons in a previous engine and they hold up very well to boost and nitrous.

I have heard of pistons from the US for around $500 a set and something else out of a Northstar v8 for cheap also.

Are these proper forged pistons or OEM types that fit the VH45 and are used to replace OEM Nissan gear out of necessity due to failure.

Once again any help or info is greatly appreciated

The ones a few of us have used in the U.S. are mfg by safety mfg. They are a supplier of OEM pistons for a number of car makers and judging by the casts themselves, I would say that they are the company that actually made the VH pistons. They are dead identical. I could be wrong...

Yes, they are just normal 10.2:1 pistons available with up to a .040 (1mm) overbore.
