Im going to build my rb25 block before I put it in my s14 what would ya'll suggest as far as pistons and rods... Im looking to make 600hp or so. Also is anyone using the turbo350 auto transmission kit here? can the stock rods handle 600hp with forged pistons? my rb project is on page 2 BTW I still need a RB25det SII ecu for an auto:http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/484576

the stock rod will hold 600--no problem...it's the piston is the weak point. at that power level goal, i think its wise to go standalone ems.

Im not sure about the EMS... I ran a haltech e6k when they first came out on my sr20 powered s14 and I hated it for many reasons to me stock remapped always felt better. Any one know if the auto 300zx ecu will work like I know the 5-spd one does? any any US co.s have the RB pistons on the shelf? thanx for anwsering tho boostsfed.... has any one built a rb on this board.. Mack? ... any of the 1000hp guys in Fl?... whats up.... lol thanx Cjex

Got my 87mm Rb26 off the shelf pistons from Wiseco. They also make Rb25 pistons. The new ones have a coating around the pistons skirt. I ordered mine through polkperformance.com under $700. We are not replacing the rods. I am waiting on the gasket kit so we can put the new valve seals in. Then we can assemble the valvetrain. The blocks been punched 87mm and the PE crank and rod bearings should be in in a week or so. http://www.wiseco.com/PDFcatalogs/sc-pors.pdf

The OEM pistons are at the machine shop. They'll probably chunck them in the garbage. I can get them if you want them. I'll be running around 8.25:1 compression.

I ordered the PE F1 Black Metal main and rod bearings from http://www.projectnissan.com/P...=1488 Their price was half (385 or so for the complete set)of what others in the community qoted me (700+). As far as good deals on OEM parts... I found the OEM RB26 gasket kit in stock for $250. Others quoted $450 for the gasket kit. I picked up a OEM water pump for $80. I got these OEM parts from Superior Nissan Of Puente Hills CA. Ask for Mike. He is the man 1-800-854-7772. He told me they are going to get a bunch of crank and rod bearings in a few weeks along with other RB goodies. OEm bearings were going to be about the same ammount as the PE bearings so I went with the PEs considering how good they are supposed to be. I hope somebody saves some money from this post cause its easy to get shafted and they'll do it to ya in a flash.

I can build one for the t56 also if you need it ... but the one he asks about is for a GM turbo 350 transmission
