ah... too fast...... toasted piston #3, boost spiked to 18psi. ohhhhhhhh well....... its time to park her :arco:

if you have a piston with rod let me know. thanks.

will be back later, the careless one :arco:

ps: should i just replace the piston and drive it again or park it and save some cash to buy some forge pistons?

just replace that one piston and throw it back together. figure out why you're spiking too, and fix it.

Hehehehe...fun.

I did the same, to #4.

I replaced just the piston...left the bock bolted to the transmission...removed the head, pulled the oil pan, and pushed the piston/rod up out the top.

I popped a used pisotn back in, and even reused the HG...it ran boosted for another 5-6 months, then I put it in my S13 daily driver for the last 7 months (N/A)...it still runs like a champ, but ticks and burns a little oil from that odd piston.

It's now sitting in my garage as a spare, now that the S13 has it's original motor back in it.

Anyway, it has been done succesfully before, but "proceed at your own risk!"

I have a set of stock pistons and rods if you are interested for cheap. Other wise, the cheapest set of forged pistons can be had for $489 from ka24de.com. Just remember though, forged pistons will take a crap also without proper tuning. Get rid of the Deltagate and get a Tial!

If this is more than a temporary solution, I'd recommend honing the bore again and put the slug in with new rings. This will get you a proper compression and less oil usage than just throwing the used **** in a smooth bore.

Yea, you should hone it. Otherwise, the rings will never seat.

not broken anymore!

i knew something was ****ed up. it was still pulling same amount of vac', it wasnt burning any oil, #3 plug was soaked with fuel(when i pulled all the plugs last nite). I AM THE LUCKIEST SOB RIGHT NOW!!! ITS MY O-RING ON INJ #3. the lower o-ring was ripped so fuel is constantly feeding into cylinder #3!!! i did a compression test and the numbers are dead on all the way across!!!!!!!!

i guess 19psi ripped opened the damaged o-ring.

lucky sob.

Another one to the list of poeple w/ torn o-rings (I'm on that list too) :) I didn't lube them prior to installing the injectors...
