ARRR! My employer paid me for ONE week of two... AND they finally took out for my uniform... $52.50! Meaning my was-going-to-be-nearly-$200-after-taxes paycheck became $98! I'm supposed to call my boss on Monday to get the other week of pay worked out, then I'll have the proper amount and I can complete the task of feeding Greg's family for another week :D! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! It just pisses me off so bad that they screwed that up! I'm going to go brood now...

Most companies have an associate handbook (policies & procedures), that should include "provisions" for payroll errors. If they make good on it in a reasonable time, there's not much you can do, but the one thing you can do regardless is handle it well.

(NOT TO SAY YOU DID OR ARE DOING THIS) The employee will get their pay when the employer can "fix" things. Getting upset and displaying "hostility/emotions" as if it was intentional or that an employee's behavior can influence the employer's business practice is un-realistic.

I worked with someone one time who's check (for whatever reason) didn't show up one Friday, she screamed and yelled and said that if it wasn't in her hands by noon Saturday there would be hell to pay (I thought that was funny). Well along comes noon Saturday and the overnight envelope (not required, but a request made by the offended manager) didn't show up. So, she QUIT on the spot. Oddly enough, that didn't make her check appear out of thin air.

Long story short as much as a PIA as things showing up late may be, yelling at someone and making un-realistic demands/threats serves no purpose (Again, not saying you did or would do this).

You can however take the high road and if your manager knows how to identify good behaviors and characteristics in employee's it might be beneficial later.

(sorry, rambling old man)

No, I'm a lifeguard. I don't think it was intentional, but one of my coworkers didn't get paid at all for several days last pay-cycle... some sort of error.

It's weird. Pools open on Memorial Day. So my first check was just that weekend and the following week, because they pay us on Friday, but take up timesheets on Monday (why? I don't know). I got that check, it was right and all. It is now two weeks later and time for another check, and they forgot that week. No idea why, everyone else got paid the right amount. Maybe they didn't see my 15hrs of work on the other sheet, I don't know.

My boss came by today to check the pumps and stuff. When he did one of my managers went to him to check the pumps too and informed him something was wrong with my check. He came to me and asked what was wrong with it. I simply said "It shows me having worked 24.5 hours, however, I worked 39.5 in this pay cycle. I worked 24.5 just last week..."he said "So you worked 39.5 and got paid for 24.5?""Yes.""Okay, well call me on Monday after 8am and I'll check the time sheets to see.""Thank you."

Luckily, all of my schedule is written on a calendar here at home, so if they claim I only worked 24.5 over two weeks, I have that schedule and the schedule up at the pool backing me up that I was scheduled for those times, and no one would have any reason to say I wasn't there when I was supposed to be, I've never been late and never even asked for a reschedule.

I really think it was simply just a human error, but I'm wary because I've heard of lifeguards not getting paid often by ANY company, not necessarily the one I work for.

No, I didn't Rex. It's good advice. I was just clarifying what had happened, and making sure people knew I wasn't blowing up at my boss.

I just realized I'm $16 short of my BRM (well $11, but I have to have $5 in bank account anyway for some bank reason)... GAR! Once I get this worked out I can get a BRM and still have ~$80 left for emergencies til I get my next check :D!

Dang honey! That's an expensive pair of trunks! Please tell me they didn't charge you $52.50 for just a pair of swimtrunks!

Hey you should play this up a,ittle better, she might can get you a post Father's Day discount  (j/k).

Glad to hear your main concern is the support of BRM :D. We should all be so loyal.

Well, I mean... NICOmom could help me get the money, now that I think about it! Get the kids to play in the mud a little and have a sad face on, then do a nice little "You want these poor kids to starve? I think not! Pay Winston and they will live without starvation!" and flood my employer's mail with pictures of that type...

Haha, asking for a discount, Mr. Childs is great :D. (I'm so used to addressing elders this way, it feels weird to say Greg to someone... well... I dunno how much older he is than I, but he's making my exhaust, so we'll just say he's a young and fiery guy!). Which reminds me, today I shot a couple clips for him to use as a comparison for people on stock vs BRM sound. The first is just from right behind the stock exhaust and I start the car... and the pathetic sound that follows. The other two are interior shots of a couple of WOT pulls with just my CAI and SS in, one with driver's window down, one with it up (though that really didn't effect the sound volume/quality in the clip, oddly enough). I want to do one more, an out-of-car WOT pull to hear it from the outside. The car sounds so nice already, but exhaust will really finish that up :D. I figure I may make a little commercial for kicks....The shot of startup then a "vrroom vroom" on the screen... followed by one of the pulls, then the outside pull if I get to film it, then a nice "that was weeny, weeny sucks" on the screen, followed by those same 3 shots with a BRM catback installed.... mmmmmmm....

It really sounds so weeny in that startup shot... it's painful... the CAI helps the pulls a lot, but... well... I'll do a little wording here:

stock: vrum, vrum...CAI: vrrrrummmm, vrummmm!I/E: vrrrummmm, vrrrrrummmm, VRRRRRUUUUUMMM!!

Oh, and a few extra mid-top end ponies never hurt...

edit: Oh, the roads were wet today, so in one of the interior shots you can hear me hit a dry patch with a nice squeal :D on launch, on the other, the road was so wet that on the 1-2 the tires spin like crazy and it sounds like I mishifted and was burning the clutch, which I wasn't, my shifts, while not the fastest I've had, were very solid. I love my VLSD... oh, and torque steer is the suck... though you don't really see it and it wasn't as bad as normal in the clips...

Update: I called my boss around noon (EST), he didn't answer, so I left a message explaining that I was calling to ask him about my check to check the time sheets and make sure it was right. I totalled up my hours (written on the family calendar), and I was correct, I did indeed work 39.5 hours, not 24.5. So....

I am awaiting the call from him, still. I'm hoping they can get it squared away and get me a new check asap. Greg's family needs my exhaust order to eat! We don't want starving kids in Arizona... for the children, for the children...

edit: I forgot to add my "ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!" cause I'm so frustrated right now... I've been looking at this exhaust for nearly 4 months...

edit: 4pm EST and STILL no call...

edit again: 6:20pm EST, guess he's not calling today... damn... I'll call him back tomorrow, this is ridiculous...

edit 3: 8:24pm EST, I've completely given up, there's no way he's not home by now, grrrrrrrrrrr! I will call him tomorrow...

try working for a person that lies to your face about calling in the payroll, we get paid friday, and he wont call it in some times till thursday morning, that means no checks till like tues, wends the next week...... then as people get them he signs them one at a time and then leaves n forgets to sign the rest , i have gone near a month with out getting a paycheck thats cashable.. this would happend every week. it got to the point one day when i told the crew and him that if checks arnt in on friday and signed i wont be there on saturday and i suggest that they dont show either. needless to say checks were there and have yet to arrive late since, but he still forgets to sign them....

i hate my boss, i cant stand him as a person nor an authority figure at work

I doubt it's my boss's direct fault. The money people screwed it up in the first place. I'm just annoyed with waiting around for the $11 that I'm short for my BRM... ARRRR...

ARRR! I called my boss again today and he was nice enough to turn around immediately (he was leaving the office) and help me out. We went day-by-day down the schedule and he found the missing 15hrs (just like I said, they didn't count a week). So I will be getting my money, but not until next paycheck. This is good and bad. Good because I'll still have ~$200 on hand even after I order my BRM. Bad because I have to wait another week and a half to get paid again... well... I guess it can come about in time for my birthday (maybe even a little late, sadly), which is all cool, sorta another gift (and a big, awesome sounding one), even though I pay for it.

Soooooo... assuming they actually remember to put it on there, I no longer have a major issue with my employer... woo hoo...
