Im thinking buying these tires for my 03 Spec V size 215-45-17. What does anyone think about these? Are they good all season tires? The tread rating is i think 500AA, thats really good right? The tires i have on now, the ContisportContact, are only good for around 30,000 miles, i hope the pirellis arent like this.

The pirelli's are allright, Im personally going to go with BFGoodrich KDW's when its time for me to replace my tires.

For an all-season, I and many others vouch for the Falken Ziex 512s. I run the same size and love it. Cheaper than Pirellis or BFGs too, I believe ($74/tire).

WOW. Yeah iver been looking around and the falkens seem to be running just south of 100. How long on average do these tires run mileage wise? The ContisportContact only lasts about 25000, and lucky for me we just had a blizzard so the tires are extra slick haha.

Not sure about mileage, I want to say they have a 30,000mi warranty, but I can't clearly remember.

I've only had mine for a few thousand and have put them through the paces quite a bit on spirited winding road cruises and hard corners and haven't noticed anything but a slight roughing up of the outside tread blocks due to a couple of very tight turns taken in sequence at speed.

I wouldn't go with the Pirelli's, just because of price. Theres a lot of tires out there same quality as the P-nero but are a lot of better imo. Also taken the fact I work for NTB.

Yes I'd suggest the Falken Ziex's too, had a customer in the other day and he had a SRT-4 with the KDW's and hated them and he got new Ziex's and said he loves them compared to the KDW's. Also the Nitto NT450 is a great tire. I had it on my GLi and loved it. It was great in the rain and regular dry conditions. Not expensive either.

since were on the topic of tires, i was wondering, does he size 215 45 17 tell the measurement from the outer circumference of the rim to the edge of the tire? I would prefer low proifiles, i dont want some snow looking tires on my car. Also, ive been comparing tires and the falkens only have a 280 tread rating while the pirellis have 400. Is the falken still better to get for the long run?

You'll have to judge based on price and how much mileage people actually get on them verses how much wear they supposedly can take.

Your 215 is going to be slightly taller (have more tire past the rim) than the 205. Not sure why that works that way, but for some reason wider tires are slightly thicker too. It's not a big difference and looks fine (I have the same set up).

I think your stock size is 205/45/17, you may want to consider getting the stock size. I say this because your speedo and odo will be ever so slightly off (talking less than .5mph I think). It's really no big deal, but the dealer may try to fault you somehow if you ever have a tire/wheel/suspension issue and try to get it fixed under warranty.

If your warranty is over, who cares?

Well if you want a lower profile tire you could run a 215/40, but it'd throw off your speedo/odo a bit, and the ride would suffer too.

Im def running 215 45 they look fine, the only problem is that i have mixed reviews for both the falken and pirellis. its definitely down to those two though, i just need a long lasting tire, sicne i dont beat on them much.

Okay, i just got a flat so its new tire time. judging by the rating, Falkens have 280 and Pirelli has 400. This would seem like a no-brainer, but i tend to be wrong a lot.

Take price into account too.

Since I haven't driven the Pirellis, I can't say.

Check the Wheels/Tires/Suspension section with the tire sticky, there's a list of the best.

I would also consider the Kumho Escta ASX, suppose to be a very good high performance all season tire. Good price as well.
