Anyone use either of these tires? What is the better tire for every day use as far as wear and wet/dry traction. The specific size I am looking at is a 215/40ZR18 for an s13. Any suggestions are appreciated.

The M&S rating on the Pirellis (and pretty much any tire) refers to Mud and Snow. This is a general purpose tire. I have never used an M+S rated tire on anything other than my 4x4.

All this means is that I generally replace my tires between 12 and 18 months. The better the traction the shorter the lifespan. Usually sacrificing wet traction as the tread wears down. It is a sacrice you have to decide on for yourself. That being said the KDW is superior to the Pirelli in all but the lifespan aspect.
