Sorry for another "tire vs. tire" thread, but I could use some advice here...

Need to get new tires for my Z28...size is 245/50/16 all around.

I've narrowed it down to either the Pirelli Neros or Yokohama ES100's. The Pirellis are slightly more expensive, like $10 a tire, but they're all season and they have higher wet/dry grip ratings then the ES100s. Problem is, they're not in stock on the East Coast according to Tire Rack and it would cost twice as much to ship them from Nevada. The ES100's are in stock locally. So I'm looking at about a $60-70 difference total for a set of 4 tires between the two.

Plus I'm going to be moving to Orlando in 3 weeks, I don't know if I even need an all-season tire and the Camaro tends to run through tires pretty quick anyway. The Pirelli seems like the better tire but is it worth the extra cost? Tell me what you guys think.

Well, these are apples and oranges. The ES100 would be the better tire for both dry and wet traction. The Pirelli would be the best if you are going to be driving anywhere near snow or ice conditions in the Winter. In the ultra-high performance all-season tire group, the Pirelli has tested out the best here but it is a little softer handling than the Yokohamas. If this is for Florida, I'd stick with the Yokohama AVS ES100 as your best bet for all around wet and dry traction. You give up a lot going to an all season tire when it comes to handling. Granted, the Yokohama will wear faster and have a bit more road feel and noise. It just depends on what is more important to you.

Thanks guys - looks like I'll go with the Yokos.

Anything would be better than the OEM Eagle RS-A's on there...ugh. Not a fan.
