its all in the angles you cut.

drawing it out on paper, with a straight edge, to EXACT sizing should yield identical results

Those " bends " are actually best made from sections of mandrel bent tubing that
you would cut on an angle (pie cut) and then welded to change the axis of the pipe's bend
to accomplish a change in direction.... the mandrel bent tubing can be found
online in mild or stainless steel and are not crush bent

yeah i saw this

from one of my fav places to visit online =]

so yea i think if i trace it out on paper and cut it it would work

would you tape it on the pipe though? wouldnt the curvature of the paper warp the overall result, i guess ill just have to try it to see if it does real quick

thanks for the tip, ive tried doing it with just math and i keep leaving something unaccounted for

and i just did a mock up of this i just made just now, the pipe seems to go where i want it well away from everything, but would this be the right way to cut it?

hi terry_240sx and poshatch,
for future reference, i used mandrel bends (not crushed) from
Columbia River Mandrel Bending... can order online and prices are
good.....the quality of bends is perfect...the bend radius selection
is pretty good too... if you need tight bends...
they have thick wall stuff too...I used some of that also for a header
409 series stainless may slightly rust..304 stainless won't
takes a lot of work out of building pipes
