Pipe on the back of the head

I was wondering what connects to the pipe on the back of the head...it has an opening on the intake side and an opening on the exhaust side. It is connected to the back of the head via a bracket. I do not see any ports off of the IACV that go to it nor any where else...nor do I see a port on the exhaust side that it would connect to...

Any ideas?
