wow that is a really clean install. nice! is the screen pretty easy to view without obstructing the rear view mirror? hopefully you took some pictures during the process so that you could post a write-up!

Hey there welcome to Nico.

I fixed your image coding because I was really curious to see how you had this installed.

Looks good. Nice unit, do you still use the factory radio?

Did you do the install yourself and if so what did it require to put that there, my main question pertains the the depth of the unit and location of the sunroof motor.

the unit is 1-1/2" thick so it doesn't conflict with sunroof motor. you only have to remove sunglass holder and cut out the locking mechanism for the sun glass holder, very simple install.

And yes u still use your stock radio, this unit is navi, blutooth phone, watch movies via sd card slot and has msndirect for traffic/weather info. the unit cost $500 msrp but u can get it for $380 on ebay

Thanks I have something new to add to my christmas list. lol

Having the live traffic is something the 08+ models come with but the older ones do not have. That is one of those small things that makes such a big difference if you have it. I really like the video feature too.

Great choice on the location too, having it in the headliner will significantly reduce your chance of theft.

Man that looks great. Very nice install. Are there any wires and such for the GPS part of it, or is it all internal? And are how the heck is it staying up there? A bracket of some sort? pics, pics, pics...

The only wire needed is the ac/dc wire witch is grounded to the car and connected to a constant power source it has an internal antenna for gps. this is mounted with wire straps and the bracket that came with it. install about 90mins. i will post more pics over the weekend.

hey, homeblue, could you post some pics? i'm curious as to how you connected the gps to the car power. i was thinking of running the wire to the cigarette plug but that's too long. if there's a better way i would love to know.

thanks.

I don't have any experience with this, could you explain in greater detail?

How did you connect to the fuse box? i might just do the same thing as you. if you can, a step-by-step procedure would be great as this install looks awesome.

i'm deciding between doing your install and just getting a garmin. do you have any trouble looking through the rearview mirror?

couple of questions

1. aside from buying the unit, did you have to buy anything else to finish the install?2. did you wire the car speakers to the unit?

you mentioned that it does not obstruct the view of the rearview mirror. with the angle/tilt of the device, how easy is it to see the screen?

This is maybe what Ive been looking for. Can you access the SC slot from that position? Is there room to use the mounting bracket so you and push the unit up when its not being used? Also I see it has Aux inputs. How is the sound quality with music?

question...how do you remove the sunglasses holder? or do you need to remove the entire headliner console?

Slick looking install. But it must be a b1tch and somewhat dangerous having a GPS mounted above and slightly forward your head and out of your line of vision.
