pioneer z1

hello! i was wondering if a pioneer z1 will fit in the altima, i know the Z2 will but the dimensions on the website is different so i wanted to make sure. Z1 is (7" x 4" x 6 1/2" ) and the Z2 is just (7" x 4") does it make a difference? thanks for your help guys!

I don't see why not. I have a Z2, but they are almost the same unit, with a couple upgrades here and there I assume.

In face, people are modding their Z1s to give them Z2s functionality.

The 7x4 is the most important. The other measurement, 6 1/2 sounds like the depth of the unit, as in how far it extrudes from the dash toward the front of the car.

Both are what is considered double-din joints.

I didn't like the Pioneer camera, so I got a different one.

chow, the dimensions are EXACTLY the same... it's pretty much the same unit, just with a different software program inside. Any double din unit will fit as long as you're using the aftermarket dash kit.

FYI, I'm assuming you went with the Z1 because of price. You will need to do a bit of upgrading and it will need to be done properly if you want to be able to watch videos while car is in motion, as well as operate ALL functions on the Navi menu while vehicle is in motion.

I do not know off hand how to do this with the Z1, but if you go to Avic411.com, you can find the answers there!

To upgrade the maps, etc, you need the CNDV-70M disc, NOT THE CNDV-70MTP... this disc will NOT work on your unit! I was gonna say get it off of ebay, but no one appears to be selling the correct discs that you need (everyone's selling the cndv-70mt)... the real disc from pioneer will cost you like $250.00. your best bet may be to get someone like MADBLACKCOUPE to burn you a copy of his discs. Better yet, your best bet will be to just get a Z2!
