pioneer cd player won't work in my s14!!!

I can't get my pioneer cd player to work in my s14. the stock one works fine. but when i hook up the pioneer nothing comes though the speakers. what am i doing wrong?

ok, did you go buy a wiring harness or did you hardwire it in. What model Pioneer head do you have and did you wire it all up yourself. The reason I ask is because iI have a Pioneer headunit, DEH 7200, and my headunit works just fine. The only thing I can't figure out is how to wire up the power antennea. I hard wired it in because who ever had the car before destroyed the stock wiring connections so I couldnt use a wiring harness. DO you have power to the headunit? If so are you sure the wiring is correct? I've done many a stereo install, with and without harness', so if you have the wiring all backwards the speakers wont get any sound at all. Also are you absolutely sure the pioneer headunit works, test it in another car and see it is sending a signal to the speakers. Check out the wiring diagrams in either the FSM or a book like chiltons to make sure your colors are wired in sync with the harness. Also check to make sure all your wiring is tight and your connections are complete.

You got any pics? Is it it new? Because if you bought it from someone it's possible they fried the amp inside of it. I got 3 bad cd players in my garage all turn on but no sound. just get an extra speaker any size works run 2 wires to it.Hook up your ground bettery and memory cords. Then get 2 wires and touch to see if u get sound between deck and extra speaker. Some wires is for antenna signal illumination and rmeote line so did you jsut hook up the wrong wires?

sorry guys my dad missed the remote wire that goes to the amp for the speakers. no problem. Now I have everything working fine. including my new to me audiobahn sub
