Pioneer AVH-P3100dvd

I'm not sure if anyone else on the forum has installed this particular h/u but i have a question about it, and i can't seem to find the answer anywhere. I'm looking to buy it in the near future, and Pioneer's website says the unit has a/v composite output connections on the back, but it states 'rear view only'. My question is, does that mean it will only display the rear view camera thru that connection?

I would like to install LCDs in the headrests, and hook up the video out from the head unit to them, instead of trying to wire a seperate dvd player in the car (also, finding a place to install/stow it) . If anyone has any experience with this, would help me out a lot. i think the higher end dvd units in pioneer's lineup also state the same 'rear view only' in the video out spec.

if they are output connections then my guess is that they are for adding screens. plus its an a/v, i dont see you needing sound while backing up so from what you said its an audio video out. not a video in, or backup camera. its says rear veiw only on a/v out because they dont want to get sued because you wrecked while driving and watching tv. that output should work with the car not in park. if you hook up that little brown wire it keeps you from being able to watch movies on the front screen while in anything other than park.

haha for whatever reason (possibly brain overload from researching head units) I totally didn't think about it having audio with it...

But, I think I've changed my mind about the p3100 and going to go with a nav unit. So, I'm looking at either the pioneer x910bt or the kenwood dnx 6140.. Still up in the air about which one
