I'm planning on putting 2 of Pioneer's new 12" shallow subs in the cargo area, and I would like to replace the speakers with Pioneer speakers also. Has anyone replaced all of their stock speakers with Pioneer gear? If so, which series, and what sizes are necessary for each speaker? I did a search and couldnt seem to find all of the answers I'm looking for. I'm also going to be putting Pioneer's top cd player head unit in it. Here are links to the components I'm looking at:

Sub:http://www.pioneerelectronics.....html

Head Unit: http://www.pioneerelectronics.....html

That's all I'm sure of at this point. Any recommendations on the speakers? http://www.pioneerelectronics.....html

For installation, would you suggest I get them installed or are they easy to install DIY style?

Any help is appreciated.

Mike

Edit: For the subs, can I run both of them off of a single channel amp by doubling up the wiring? http://www.pioneerelectronics.....html

My buddy has his two 12" wiring on top of eachother in the back of his Jeep even though he has a dual channel amp.

Edit: Whoops, wrong board. Can a mod move this to car audio please? Sorry about that, not a great way to start my existence on this forum.

as far as what speakers fit, go to http://www.crutchfield.com. dont know about any of the pioneer speakers, thats gonna have to be your preferance. but make sure you base your decision on the rms wattage, not the max. for installation, if you happen to buy your stuff from crutchfield, they will actually send you detailed directions for you to do the install yourself, as well as provide you with all the connections you need to make the install easy, usually for free if you spend like $150.

to hook up the sub, wire all the positives together, and all the negatives together. this will provide a 2 ohm load.

hope this helps

Thanks a lot Notorious. What is the difference between max wattage and rms wattage?
