I started a thread yesterday but didn't get any replys and after searching some more and calling some people they said that i may not need the caps. Some people have said you do and some say you don't. So i just put my injectors in without them and it didn't want to crank. After it finally cranked there was a horrible shake and it was blowing gas and oil out the back so bad that it got on my moms car and all over the ground. I removed the injectors and saw that two of thew lower o-rings were shredded along the outer edge. I dont know if this is from me putting them in wrong or not. I popped them in with a flat head on the top and a rubber mallet. Is this a bad way to do it. Also would it not having pintle caps make it pour gas and oil out the back. Im really tired of things being such a pain with this car. I just want it to run normal and i will leave it alone.I looked around fro pintle caps for about 10 minutes and couldn't find anything. Does anyone have a good place to get them. Thanks

Sounds like you have a leaky fuel rail. When installing or taking the injectors out of the rail its really easy to damage the O-Rings. This will cause your fuel rail to leak. You can test this theory by pulling the rail off of the intake manifold and priming the pump with a paper towel under it. If it drips at all, you need new o-rings. Install them with Vaseline.

Pintle caps help with fuel atomization. They are not needed but *COULD* help your fuel economy.
