Pinstripes are starting to strip off, easy fix?

The pinstripes on both sides of the car (only sides, not front and rear bumpers) are slowly starting to strip off. This is all due to pressure washing. What's an easy fix? I was thinking of applying a strip of matte black vinyl on top?

P.S. If you still don't know what I'm talking about, it's the black pinstripe that runs across the whole car, including the front and rear bumpers.

samt thing happened to my buddy's car......just rough up the pin stripe (sand paper or w/e) and then just tape off like a good foot above and below the stripe and just spray paint it....thats what he did and it turned out great
