I have a 01 maxima and whenever i hit the gas i hear this pinging noise. Do i need a tune up. Anyone has any suggestion.

What grade of fuel are you using? If you're not using premium, try stepping up to premium to see if that makes a difference. You might also try running a can of injector cleaner with your next fillup.
