Apparently when Venus took the clutch off my motor, they took the pilot bushing too, because it didn't come with one. I'm having a lot of problems putting in the bushing that came with the spec stage 1 kit. I've tried greasing it and tapping it, with no luck. I tried tapping it in with the clutch alignment tool too. It looks like it's too big to go in. The hole in the crank it goes in is larger after about 1/2" in. Stupid question, should it go all the way in, or just flush with the end of the crank? Everyone tells me it should "glide right in", once it's lined up right. I didn't get an auto motor, did I? people to auto -> manual swaps mention a pilot converter that sticks off the back of the crank, that has a hole too small to fit a m/t pilot bushing in. Can someone post a pic or a good description of this area of the motor? I've searched nico, freshalloy, and 240sxforums with no real answers. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

well, I searched on sxoc, and found a post with pics comparing the a/t rear engine seal area to the m/t. Apparently the dumb****s at venus sent me an auto CA. I have a bushing sticking out about 3/4" from the end of the crank, where there should be a recess. Once I get that out, everything should be fine. There's one more reason not to buy from Venus.

i was gonna suggest that u had an auto with the bushing for the torque converter, and u should try removing it 1st. Sounds like u figured it out tho.

I rented a slide hammer from pepboys and got it out in about 15 secs. I called Venus and they made excuses, and said it wasn't their fault. god, I hate those people.

They can suck sometimes but they've done me OK. They screwed up some stuff on my clip, but got it straightened out. I had 2 bad coil packs and incomplete intercooler piping, bent SMIC and no recirc valve. They sent me the coil packs and I told them not to worry about the piping cuz it was a good exuse to get a FMIC, but I was still kinda ticked off that it wasn't included.

I ordered a motorset, not a clip, so no gauge cluster. My i/c piping was missing pieces too, sincec they decided the day they shipped it that it doesn't come with the piping (though they told me at least 5 times prior that it did). they better hope my coil packs aren't bad...I'm looking to start up tomorrow evening or thursday morning.

I should be running by Sunday *crosses fingers* I've been told a million times it's not possible, but I'm going to try to do this in a weekend. Keep us updated on how it goes.

There is no recirc valve on a stock CA.

So what happens when you shut the throttle plate inbetween shifts? Make the turbo spin backwards? Kinda sounds like a bad deal on Nissan's part if true.
