I have the automatic transmission and we pulled it all out. Now about the pilot bearing...There is a bearing in the crank and do i tap the manual pilot bearing into that or do i have to remove the automatic bearing thing??

Thanks

Tony

ARE YOU SWAPPING TO MANUAL? IF NOT YOU DON'T HAVE TO REMOVE IT IF ITS IN GOOD CONDITION.... IF YOU ARE SWAPPING TO A MANUAL YOU NEED TO CHANGE TO A MANUAL PILOT BEARING.

First, get the manual pilot bearing (more like a sleeve) and compare..I didn't change the one on mine, because it was in there really hard and I didn't want to mess with it; it looked ok. So, I hope it's ok because I haven't driven it yet, except for 3 feet forward and 3 feet back to see if it even would engage.

i figured it out. On the automatic, there is a bushing inside of the crank end (dont know what its called) for the automatic transmission. You have to pull this out before installing pilot bearing.

I guess this is something a person would only know when doing from a auto->manual swap. My friend told me who did an 5speed swap on his s14! woot! hopefully ill get this all installed by tommarrow.
