no converter with the manual trans, all you will need is a manual flywheel and clutch.

If I'm not mistaken, We(Autozone) sell pilot bearing removal tools. Looks kinda like snap ring pliers on a large scale. U can rent the tool also.

I know for sure there is a flexplate adapter for RB25 auto engines. It's gotta be removed to install the flywheel. I guess it's the same for RB20's and I'm guessing since it's an auto and you are having trouble removing the pilot bearing that adapter needs to come out.

what adapter? I tried the tool but no luck and I have the 300zx n/a pilot bushing but when i compare it to the whole on the motor it looks like its just goin to sit in loose and not grab? the motor was used with RB20 auto transmission but im using the 5speed im searching everywhere but when i find something its different??

my rb20 was 4wd and auto.......only had to pull the auto bushing....or rather hammer and chisel it out... reused the auto dust plate.......should be noted that i had my pilot bushing turned on a lathe (measured the crank and pilot shaft) but that was only because i couldn't find one on the island (st.Lucia)....

Well i know there is a guy on here who did a RB20 auto swap long back. Name is ACECOOL on here. Think he did RB20 mated to a KA transmission. Think he used the KA pilot but not for sure. Shoot him a email.

THis is how I removed my Pilot bushing, pack the Inside of the bushing with grease use heavy thick grease, then use a bolt about the same size as the pilot bushing, Put the bolt in there and thread it. As the bolt is moving in it pushes the grease out and slowly pushes the pilot bushing out.
