Hi all, I will be running my s13 hatch pretty soon with around 500rwhp I intend to drift a little but mostly only drive it on weekends or for certain events, but I wanted to upgrade the entire suspension. Ruca, traction rods, and such but it seems every upgrade available u have to use pillowball joints. I've read that they're only useful for a season of auto x or drifting is this true? How often do they last before I have to buy again. What are you all running and what are some recommendations? thanks

You must mean Heim joints..

i ran like 90% heim joints on my previous S14, the only noticible difference was noise... the suspension was a LOT tighter too.

Yes, Heim joints sound more accurate in your context. Pillowball joints are on struts and coilovers; they allow the coilover to move around more. If you hold the top part (hat), you can move the rest of the strut. The pillowball has saved one of my coilovers when my car was in an accident, without it it would have snapped.

Yes heim joints! That's what I meant, if you have them how long have you had them I've read people say they're to last about 15k miles and others say just depends on driving, just wanted to get some info and recommendations before I go out and but my whole suspension.

heim joints offer MUCH more adjustment, so if you have a whacked out subframe, or you want to run stupid -5 negative camber, adjustable heim joint arms are going to be the better option..

if you have a mild drop, and want great stiffness, without the squeeking, and potential problems of heim joints, energy suspension bushings are the way to go... if you do get E-S bushings, get the black ones, as they are enfused with graphite, something that the red ones do not have.

in my experience, the stiffness difference between heim joints and ES bushings is minimal.. but i dont drift or track my car.. im sure if you are going 60 mph sideways, you will notice a significant difference between solid heims and poly bushings.
