Sorry things have been so scarce this week guys. Can't tell you how busy we have been!

But, I am back, with pics and videos from this week.

Let's start it off!

Monster Tajima's new look for this year

Image

Image

And one of his other Unlimited competitors... the Dacia (Nissan?)

Image

And my local boy favorite to take the title for running under 10 minutes in Unlimited, Paul Dallenbach

Image

Yeah.... its sexy

Image

Image

Image

The Unlimited Evo? Not much to look at... but it's quick ;)

Image

Image

Coors Light, anyone?

Image

Our car... which you all know by now :)

Image

Jeff Zwart is back again this year in out Time Attack 2WD class, this year in a GT2 RS..... hawt.

Image

Also... we're racing a Seat..... LOL, this thing is cool

Image

Especially on the orange wheels

Image

In Time Attack 4WD, by buddy, Robert Thorne is doing extremely well. Hoping he'll make the podium in his class!

Image

........ Because Race Car

Image

Its now 11pm the night before the race.... I can't sleep! The car is already in the pits and ready for tomorrow which should be an amazing day... stay tuned!

My final update for this year. Turned out be a year full of records for sure! New records in almost every class, including Monster Tajima finally breaking the 10 minute barrier... but not before stopping to take a pic with Ken, the driver of our 240sx

Image

My camera broke about halfway through the morning... so bear with me on the minimal pics this time around.

As you can see, race day is a bit crazy down by the starting line and around the pits.

Image

But that doesn't keep the nice Ducatti girls from being nice ;)

Image

But of course... the big thing is getting the cars ready....

Paul here was my favorite to break the record this year, and actually beat Monster to the top. But, alas, he snapped a driveshaft leaving the line and never even made the timing lights. I guess a week of practicing with over 1300 hp finally took its toll.

Image

Monster's team getting ready... you'd be surprised at how calm and nice all of them are, even on race day.

Image

Then there is our Evo.... YES, it was finally ready to race.... about 10p.m. the night before the big day...........

Image

Image

And the crazy French....

Image

And Rhys Millen.... this guy REALLY surprised me this year after all the crap the happened with the car last year.

Image

The results? Well... they turned out terrible this year. There were tons of crashes this year, and lots of delays etc. I'm not proud to say that a few of them may have been our fault. While Rod Millen went to take the record in Time Attack 2WD in Rhys' Hyundai Genesis Drift Car, our Pink 240sx went on to blow a headgasket and then turbocharge the cooling system and blow some hoses off as well. Ken pulled off around Boulder Park, which is just passed Devil's Playground above the W's. Our Evo? Well... as Monster went to smash the 10 minute barrier, our Evo in Unlimited (which was pieced together the night before and barely looked ready to roll as it hit the line) also blew up. Still not sure what happened yet, but Dave was forced to pull over just passed Glen Cove, below the W's when he started getting hit with oil.

After all of the crap that happened to Dave over the last few months with shady sponsors etc. however, he was awarded the 'Hard Luck' Award at the ceremony. As far as the Pink car goes, it is on its way home to California right now, but will soon be rebuilt and sent back to CO in preparation for next year. I have been given the opportunity to finally take the reigns on the suspension setup on the car, and of course... the driver seat for the 2012 PPIHC ;) Hope to see some people out there next year once the whole thing is paved and I go and try to break the record in Time Attack 2WD by running my goal of a 10:59!

Before I go... some last pics that I found from the official site...

Still debating on that one. There are a lot of turns and an obvious advantage to having a navigator, but from the racing standpoint I've always had, weight = slow. I DO need some crew guys, though.

I should try to come out too, I was pissed I didn't have time or the ability to go see Pikes Peak when I was in CO 10 yrs ago.
