i had this conversation with my brother just yesterday and i thought it might be interesting to hear what NICO members have to say. why in the world do people give stupid names to differentiate the models of s13s and s14s? why not just say early s13 early s14 or even zenki/chouki/kouki. it just plain pisses me off when i hear pignose or cateyes. they're head lights not eyes! its a bumper not a fuggin snout!

i hope someone out there agrees with me....

Hmmmm.

Well, I hate zenki/chouki/kouki. English-only! :)

I actually prefer when people use the YEAR of the car.

just say the year, and only use the lingo if you have a conversion. simple enough?

because i don't know how to pronounce zenki/chouki/kouki and i feel like a jackass if i say it wrong.

i use the year for my car, but if i'm looking for parts i use the general terms because it usually doesn't matter.

I go by the codes (HS13, RMS13, blah, blah) As for S14's, zenki and kouki do it for me.

Also, being we only got 2 different major changes in the USDM S13's, wouldnt it be zenki (89-90) and kouki (91-94)?and no chouki/chuuki (w/e)?

Wrong.

Yours is "chuki." We never got the "Koukis."

I've always told people to just mention the year and then everyone will freaking know exactly what it looks like and what engine it has.

chuuki

and terms like zenki/chuuki/kouki and pignose are good cuz they include multiple years.

example of how this is good:"will a '91 bumper fit on a '93?" valid question.or "will a chuuki bumper fit a on a chuuki?" now a silly question.
