How much do the stock pie pans on a 91 q45 weigh? I want to race with 17 inch 235/45 racing wheels that weigh 17 pounds not including tires. I wanted to know which would be lighter and which will give me better acceleration.

Wheel/tire weight on a 4300 pound car is relatively insignificant [in the normal +- 10 lb range] in changing acceleration.......now handling and braking is another matter.

Adding 10 pounds per wheel/tire [x4] would be less than 1%.

Careful about going to light weight light duty wheels most are not designed to handle the Q weight and G forces that bumps can create ........they bend and deform unlike oem wheels.

oxs - Anything forged (like BBS) would be a wise choice.

The formula usually works out like this:

Light + strong = expensive x10. :)

You're supposed to check your wheels every season for cracks, bends, etc. and typically if you can afford it replace them every 2 seasons as small fractures can occure in the wheel itself. X-rays can reveal impurfections.
