Ah well, I'm not going to bother to fix the rim. I'm just going to get a new one probably. I hate fixing this kind of stuff simply because I don't know how long it will last and plus I'll always have it in the back of my mind that it's not 100%... :/

Oh well. OEM and winter tires are going on for now...

The GF sent me pics a few weeks ago of her father's tire with a hack saw blade straight through it. I'll see if she still has the pics lol.

Sorry to see this man.

The part that I find funny is that right next to the screw, your tire says "reinforced" hahaha, I guess not enough.

That does suck but believable. I once ran over a rock that never punctured the tire but I hit it at the right angle that it actually busted through the rim. Hope everything works out for you man...

Silly kids and their low profile tires...

Lol, just kidding. That's INSANE. I've never seen anything like that...do you have road hazard coverage at all on the tires??

Dang that sucks! With the size of that bolt, it almost looks like someone did it intentionally. I mean that thing is huge. I couldn't imagine running over something that size and having it go perfectly through like it did...

That is some crazy sh*t right there! Chances are probably a zillion to 1 and I too, have been the victim of that very same thing! When I lived in San Antonio for a year, a friggin bolt went through both the tire and the wheel...couldn't figure out how it happened and the guys at the tire store were dumbfounded.....drove around for quite awhile with 3 like wheels and one nasty black replacement cause I couldn't afford to replace the one with the hole

Sorry for your rim & tires... that would totally ruin my week.

Is it me, or is the # of bad stories for A/C's on the rise? I feel like half the posts these days are accidents/damage/scratches. It's depressing!

Damn dude that is one long azz bolt. That looks like a suspension bolt to me. If you messed around with your suspension while doing the turbo R&D I would check the suspension to make sure it's not part of your car. Not saying that your work is sloppy, but hey it has happend in the past to other great techs and it will keep happening .

Good idea, I'm going to check tomorrow. Argh it better not be. The car seemed to be fine driving today though so I doubt it. But better be safe than sorry. It was dark when I changed the tire...
