The new owner of the M3 works at Hennessey Performance and already has a few sponsorships lined up. Its going to be a full time track car so thats cool.

Man I thought the same thing. But I wasnt going to talk him out of it. Hes ripping out the interrior and putting a roll cage and everything. I guess he just really wants the M3 badge? Cause he could have done the same thing with a 3 series. then again he definitely had money cause hes dd right now is a 2007 3 series with a v8 m3 engine, plus he flew up just to see the car and hes flying up again on monday to pick it up.flohtingPoint wrote:Wait, someone bought a fully loaded M3 to convert to a track car? That's quite the premium to pay for a bunch of stuff you'll just wind up ripping out of the car.
Of course you didn't, nor should you. As the seller, it's your job to get the price you want, regardless of how odd the person buying isWatermelonwarrior wrote: Man I thought the same thing. But I wasnt going to talk him out of it.

Interior shots?
haha actually they were taken with a blackberry. It was my brothers pictures when he added them to his facebook. I still need to get it all cleaned up and do my own little photo shoot with my sisters dslr.
You have good taste sir. The GT3rs is one of my all time favorite cars and It would be hard for me to choose anything else under 200k.Koshin wrote:Do you like it more than the M3? Honestly....
Its hard for me to go against an M3. I like the 997 GT3RS, my favorite car. But the Cayman is a far cry from that.

Yea, PCA are good folk in the DC region. They definitely put the "you're a c*** if you drive a Porsche" stereotype to bed. Super nice individuals and they do a good job with their motorsports events.Watermelonwarrior wrote:Cool man BMWCCA always puts on good events along with the Porsche club.
i know a guy here in CO that did the same... car runs in FP for autocrossflohtingPoint wrote:Wait, someone bought a fully loaded M3 to convert to a track car? That's quite the premium to pay for a bunch of stuff you'll just wind up ripping out of the car.
Ya they are in person. Haven't read on the Porsche forums but on the bmw forums most of them are d!ck. I guess people feel tougher behind the computerflohtingPoint wrote:Yea, PCA are good folk in the DC region. They definitely put the "you're a c*** if you drive a Porsche" stereotype to bed. Lucky...it's the opposite here.flohtingPoint wrote:

That's probably because your sitting behind a computer talking about the name and theory of the car instead of driving the damn thing, which is the real point of it.d!ck wrote:Although I like Porsche in theory (I wouldn't personally own anything newer than a 993), and I like the idea of a mid-engined sports car, there's something about the Cayman that just seems... off-putting to me.
If you were to give the Cayman a real racing engine, it would be the best car on the track, hands down. Theres a lot of talk about how Porsche neutered the Cayman so it wouldn't outshine the 911, their flagship car for the past several decades.Watermelonwarrior wrote:You have good taste sir. The Cayman S feels like its in a completely different league then the M3 or even my brothers C6 for that matter. It doesn't really put you back in your seat like the m3 does but it is just as fast and insanely smooth. I guess that has to do with the fact the engine is right behind the seats and its not shifting the weight. The brakes grip much better then both the m3 & vette and hugs the turns just as good. You should stop by a dealership and test drive one just for fun.
After driving this Iv gained a lot more respect for the Boxster S. I always see them perform at the track but experiencing the way a Porsche drives is another thing.
