Alright here is the issue the RB20 will not rev didn't get a tach on it yet but it feels like not above 2500-3000, I've narrowed down a lot of things but feel free to drop suggestions. I have come to beleive that there is a vaccum issue, I'd love it if anyone with and RB20 could point out where a hose on their engine goes when one of mine isn't attached right etc! Thanks a ton in advance guys!

Oh and shutup camera died had to use the phone!

The "new" MAFS already replaced it, still wont rev...Silly transmission sensors...Mad tyte clutch fan clearence! lolAight that's the end of the problem pictures ready to try and help me get it on the road before Carlisle next weekend?

Here is my wannabe bling timing belt cover

Last one is just of the beast in progress Buddy Club's look silly with silencers... and my hatch needs paint

you do know that the motor shifts around in the engine bay right? it will move around when driving , shifting, and even just sitting at a stop revving it up. that could potentially make the clutch fan contact the radiator and tear it up.

did read everything but might be because the silencer is restricting the exhaust... just a thought

stops at 2500?

mafs.

As a test, unplug the mafs and see if there is a difference.

It's most likely the wiring.

Use a flathead screwdriver and use the built-in diagnostics on the ecu to see what codes it flashes. Normal is 5 long flashes, followed by 5 short flashes.

Did pull codes the other night 5 long 5 short so that didn't help, hence why I'm thinking it's something dumb like vaccum or something.Keep em coming boys though, I'd really love to drive it to Carlisle next weekend!

Yeah, so I took off the heat shield over the turbo tonight, missing a nut on one of the studs holding the turbo on... thanks JHOT. Grrhh, so it could quite possibly be acting all screwy from a terrible boost leak, though it should still rev anyway though right? Ickkk, not going my way these days.

..on a side note it looks like a UFO is hovering over your engine bay from the glare of the light.. haha

Did you make a boost leak finder yet? If not search how to make one and check the whole system.

Good luck man

its not jhot's fault. they dont inspect these engines with a fine toothed comb like the person who purchases it should.

its USED. not new.

Send me your RIPS IM, deal! Yeah, the shipping company wouldn't let me take off the wrapping until I had signed for it, which defintely was Either way it's mine now.

With some ideas from Carl I replaced the temp sensor and double checked my vaccum lines. It does run alot smoother now but, it still wont rev properly. I'm going to install the Tach tonight so I can actually know what's up and re-set the TPS so we'll see where that gets me.

Hey man i dont know if you tried unplugging the maf sensor or not yet, but try it out, if it makes a diff thats what it might be...try cleaning the maf sensor and if that makes a diff that might be it...on my car it wouldnt go over 2500 rpm and it would die out sometimes..i checked codes it was good...i replaced everything i could think of and it made no diff...finally i changed my maf sensor and now it runs like a champ...if you know someone in your area with the same engine try out there maf sensor it takes like 2 min to pull out...and 2 min to put back on...give it some gas...take it around and it should be good...im pretty sure its your maf sensor.

Well I already bought a replacement MAF for it and that didn't change it at all. However when I unplug the MAF it runs like crap comparativly, hence why I think the MAF is working. I've tried both MAFS numerous times, and there is a chance that both are bad, I really hope not though... if I did know someone around here with one it'd be absolutly swell and I'd probably bet $100 that I could look at their's and exchange some parts or what not and have mine running in less then an hour.
