16x7(effectively +14front/+12rear) 215 60 f/r no pull in front just roll, the rear required a decent pull but mainly due to its low stance. I know it doesnt look slammed but thats the 60 series Picked up some 17's today with 225 45 so now I will be plowing road deflectors with my lip

eh to each their own...

i dont like positive offset wheels on s chassis cars; at least +15 is good, personally the red car with all the aero and kouki goodness looks a bit goofy with those wheels

x9 +35 is surprisingly closer to the fender than I though it would be, it actually doesn't look half bad.

That being said I still plan on running x10 +25 lol, most likely with a spacer.

Why a spacer? Why not just get the offset you want the first time?

They don't offer them in any other sizes. I think I'll be happy with the x10 +25, i mean it's basically the same fender clearance as a x8 +0 so it should fit pretty well.

everyone says +35's may rub coilovers, is this true for 9inch wide wheels too, or would +35 clear it? this looks like the best wheel fitment with no pulling (in my opinion of course.)

so no matter what, a +35 or so will always rub coils?

I don't think they will in the rear. The reason I am running a +35 is because the face is flush with the body lines and I have plenty of room. Right now I only have 245-40-17's on the wheel and I still have over an inch between the tire and the shock. I should be able to get a 285 on without rubbing at -1.65 degrees camber

Somebody call the coast guard... Tell them about this thread.

I wouldn't go near +35 without a spacer but I guess whatever. All you +35ers get non stretched tires so you must be trying for a max tire setup idk..

Yeah, for the opposite of super slammed and stretched. I want max tire without pulling fenders, so the 17x9+35 lets me get some big rubber at an affordable wheel price. Granted a 17x11 with 285's would look baller, but I am not trying to spend 2000 to do it. At the same time if I ran a 17x11 I would wrap them in 335's for sure.

It comes down to a difference in setting up your car for appearance verses performance.Wide rim with close to 0 offset or negative offset and stretched tire = appearance setup.Less rim with offset matching to fit the widest tire in the fender = performance setup.I think the whole drift look with wheels poking out of the fenders looks decent but i definitely prefer the performance setup for my car. I'm a function over form type of person.

Not exactly true. A stretch (not super stretched) gives the best contact patch. Negative camber for going straight sucks, but when in a slide, the suspension will load at the leading wheel and apply a more even contact patch, where a 0 camber car would go positive camber in that same slide.

So everything has a function and a place, ascetics do come into play thought. Some people want to slam a daily driver, and have it look good. Other dont car as long as it fits the aggressive style in mind.

I larger square tire will apply more power to the ground in the straights for sure. A little negative camber will help with cornering and make a nice street set up IMO. But hey its all up to the owner. I think a stretched tire on a wide wheel on a slammed car is sexy, but its just not for my car.

What i meant was the type of stretch needed to fit 9 inch wide wheels with +10 or less offset on an s chassis with stock fenders.I'm not talking about alignment angles either, just wheels and tires. I know a lot of people use camber to fit bigger wheels and tires but i'm not going to get into that for the sake of keeping the conversation simple. The other thing i wanted to point out was that i'm not talking about the proper setup for drifting, i know it's different and stretched tires work for them by reducing sidewall flex and such but that is also something i'm not going to go into.I'm just talking about maximum traction, road race type of performance.

disregard my previous post then, I have a good amount of camber f/r

went to 225 45 17 on a 17x7 (with spacers making them +14) they are sunken in the front IMHO( old chassis was setup and mainly running my 15x8 -42 ,195 stretched slightly)

if the OP were to run 10 inch tires in the back and have it fit right just like his current 9 inchers do... what offset would he be looking for? If he got a wheel that was an inch wider, but the offset was the same(+35), the wheel would be more "sunken in" and as a result, the inner lip would rub on the strut housing... correct?

A 17x9+35 with 275 40 17's offer more then an inch of backspacing from tire to strut around -1.75 degrees. A 10 inch wheel at +35 may be fine, but the tire would be closer to the strut. I would probably run near +25 with a 275 on a 10

in my case. i run 17x7 +35 and the rears clean fine, however the fronts are millimeters apart and im not sure but may rub the coils, with stock suspension there was maybe a cm of clearance. with 215/45 (ithink) tires. so high offset and low widths most likely will rub/be really close

This is 17x9 +22 when I test fit my wheel last week (in the front). My finger is bent and there is very little clearance. +35 almost certainly wouldn't work.
