First, before I critque, I will admit that I too love the finished look of this car...
The intercooler piping through the fascia is nice, unique, and its curves nicely add to the theme of curvature that exists throught the entire FM body kit. That feature alone regarding the front fascia, not only distinguishes it even more from the Stillen fascia, but seems to provide a very consistent theme!
The lines on the Stillen front lip attracts me, and as I mentioned before, this front fascia's bottom has that look. I actually prefer the stillen front lip to either fascia right now only due to clearance issues.
I favor the FM sideskirts over the Stillen side skirts. Again, FM seems to have a very good understanding of the curves of the A/C. FM uses these natural curves as cues to find a bit of subtle curvature in the openings of the side skirts! Nice!
The trunk seems a bit cluttered, and I'm not a fan of P3's or Punch series amps, so going middle of the road on the stereo equipment is a negative for me, but for the logo look, its probably all that can be done. Fitting two P3's is a heck of alot easier than two T1's. But again, even taking looks into consideration, the trunk is just OK.
I am still not a fan of fiberglass. As anyone who's ever had biberglass knows, they can be a *****. They can chip more easily, imperfections show through when painting, leaving a spider web effect. Fiberglass kits must be 100% pefect in order to not have these issues, and I for one have NEVER seen a 100% perfect fiberglass bodyit. That continues to be, in my eyes, the weak point of this kit.
I am still also not feeling the "fat butt" look of the rear pieces of the kit. Also, those pieces appear to need to be fiberglassed to the kit or a clean look. I would have loved to see an actual full rear bumper, similar to the ED rendition.
All in all, it looks nice! Much better lookating at the final product. However, I can see how the Nissan Gurus in Japan didn't want this next to the GT-R and Maxima. It wouldn't have fit there... seems like it belongs more in the tuner part of the NY auto show!
**edit*** also, would be nice to see drilled rotors, escpecially on a turbo charged car! Gives it that final bada$$ look!
