Hey fellas, just figured I'd pass long my news of my newly acquired 240sx. I had a post on here earlier, but heres an update to let you know I now have a few pictures of the car on my webpage under Latest Purchase...

Shes going to a lil project but I can tell a fun one. My very first plans for the car besides tune up items will be intake and a 91+ front end. (i think thats the right year...if not 92)

later!

Thats great, I would love to have a project car, too bad I am a poor college student saving for my BMW! Good luck with your project, you will find a everlasting wealth of knowledge on these boards. Remember to use that little red search button up top FIRST before you ask any questions though, otherwise you may get a bashing, lol.

when you guys say alot of work, is there mandatory stuff that has to be done? Other than the timing belt and other tune up items, I'm also going to do a full brake job.

what else can I expect? Body repair aside.....This thing idles and runs perfect, and remember the mileage is in kilometers, not miles. theres about 107k miles on her.

either way i'm still excited :)

Prolly suspension, paint job (its rusting), interior job ... just by looking at the car I can tell you need those things.

if it doesn't have a timing belt isn't it a chain then? someone on another board told me this. sorry my ignorance.

i'll do a seach on FSM, I'm still learning on what to search for with this car through the archives of this page. Any other tidbits to do a search on will be greatly appreciated.

I have a Chiltons manual for this car on the way from Ebay as well. :)

EDIT: ahhh FSM = factory service manual? :) seen those on ebay for about 50 bucks ;)

Yeah I mean the engine is probably fine, I have 116,000 miles and it runs perfectly but you definetly need a paint job. Suspension soon and the interior could use some work.Josh

I was just wondering is that was a special edition 89. Because I have an 89 and it looks nothing like that, body shape wise. Yours almost looks like it's newer than that. Congrats anyways though...you're gonna love it.

SE does not mean special edition. THere are two styles, Coupe and Hatchback/fastback. The coupe has a trunk and the back windshield finishes about 1.5-2 feet infront of the end of the car The hatchback has a glass window/door in back that opens and closes and accccesses the other side of the car. The hatchbacks back windows finishes closeer to the back of the car.
