**** I know they tend to crack!!!, $255 is a little loss if so****

I bought the ssautochrome top mount on ebay a month ago for $510 and got a 50% ($255) refund for taking pics for them.

I figured for only $255 the manifold might be worth trying. I had to drill out the holes alot because some of them didnt line up. The turbo is quite big (t3/60-1 .70/.82) so it barely clears the valve cover, but that is also due to the angled position of the t3 flange on the manifold.

The wastegate flange fit my tial 38mm well. The turbo and manifold have been mounted on the motor for over a month now and no cracking (motor hasn't been run yet, we'll see after that.

Just thought I'd share some pics. I currently have the intake already fabbed and the IC piping almost done. I'm putting the greddy plenum on when it arrives after christmas and then I'll attempt to get her started again.

Sorry for the blurry pics.

Am I reading this right... If so, I would hope there would not be any cracks yet, especialy since it hasn't been used yet...

(Don't get mad... just kidding around this A.M.)

Looks very Nice...Merry Christmas All....joel

I know they tend to crack, but $255 is a cheap shot for the place of a $1500-2000 manifold.

If it cracks, I'm not out much.

Even though it hasn't been running yet, I'm still impressed it held the weight of the turbo up for a month with no fatigue.

The manifold cracking and losing $255 isn't the worry, it's the metal parts cracking off and going thru the turbo/engine that you worry about.

Good luck with it!

This is true. Hopefully that won't happen.

too bad -- look like that manifold doesn't allow you to run the stock upper intercooler charge pipe. the turbo sit kinda high. have you tried to close the hood?

I have the greddy manifold to solve that problem. Turbo clears hood fine. It is not taller than the shock tower.

Cracking usually doesnot start until you heat cycle the manifold by driving it....

Be sure to clock your turbo for the oil feed/return...

Nice mani for that price. If you have room underneath you can weld a support arm on the mani and bolt to near the open AC screws. Then weight of the turbo would not have to rest on the flange closest to the engine.

I've read many places you can be up to 30 degrees off vertical.

No. Do not make any braces from the manifold to anything. Make your braces go right from the turbo to engine. The manifold will expand from heating up and if you try and brace it to the block it will cause the manifold to break. What you need is to have the turbo braced to the head so the manifold isn't suporting the weigth of the turbo.

What about power steering? Will the manifold clear the pump? Is it going to be possable to mount the resvoir?

Don't know. Never intended to run power steering anyways.

these manifolds crack do you heat.. the welds are ground down.. and the heat tends to make the weak welds crack

not that i have heard of. We are doing a couple of t3/t4 setups at our shop only we are using chromoly manifolds that we make and those are practically undestroyable.

This manifold hasn't cracked yet, and I boosted 7-8psi on saturday for about 20-30min.
