What do I need to get the front mounts of my s14 vlsd to mount on my s13?People say different bolts and washers, but I haven't seen any pictures... does anyone know what size bolts and washers I will need, and how many? The car I'm putting it on is my sole transportation so getting halfway into it and realizing that I don't have the parts I need isn't really an option.

you should be able to just change out the s14 diff cover for the old s13 one and bolt it right in.

It mounts the same. The mounts for the s13 dont have bushings but the s14`s do. Either way, the stock bolts will work. The only thing you will have to change is the back cover. Just slap on your stock one. The bolts may be a little subborn, but use an impact wrench or a cheater bar and you should be fine.Set aside about 2-3 hours aside, since it is going to be your first time doing the swap...

2-3 hours?

even for a first time that seems a little "out of perspective"

i could be wrong though, hence ive never done it alone

I have actually installed at least 10 LSDs in 240s, and I have come to be able to do it in about 45 minutes to an hour without a lift and including the axles. However when i did it for the first time in my s13 (w/o) axles, it took me at least 2 hours (including time to rig the jack so that the diff wont just plop down on the floor, and time to get the proper tools and wd-40). I have no idea if this guy has an impact wrench and a lift, so that`s why i threw out the 2-3 hr figure...

no lift, no impact wrench, and it will be my first time doing the rear diff swap, but its about the only bolt I haven't had off the car. I'm not going to plan on any time, I'm just going to do it over the weekend when I can take things at my own pace. Thanks for the help.

I heard that the front mounts on the s14 diff are not solid as in an s13, and have bushings, but that it should go right in with back cover swapped, unless the bushings were not included. Is this incorrect?

my diff had been removed by a salvage yard, I found it by sorting through a massive pile of diffs. So I didn't have the S14 bolts. And while I could go back to the junkyard to get them, or just to go lowes for some washers, now my car is on jackstands with no rear differential so I'm probably not driving it anywhere.

Hey how's the install going? Get that pumpkin bolted up?

Did some digging around at local salvage yards, and looks like I may have found an S14 vlsd for myself too...

orange sticker, both shafts spin the same direction when you spin one (or the input)

Install went fine I just had to walk like 6 miles round trip to O Reiley's for some washers. At fist I was concerned that the diff might move around some , but I just cranked the bolts down and the washers deformed so the diff can't move at all. Someone I know wants the front bushings though so I have to go to the junkyard soon to get a pair for him, and I will probably go ahead and try to get another pair for me to replace the washers next time I have the car in the air.
