Short answer- you can go as wide as you want as long as you have $$$. Biggest street tire I've seen is 335, biggest wheel is 13in in the rear.

This is exactly the width I'm aiming for, but with stock fenders. 255's is the perfect limit for the front, since I've heard that with 265 or wider and you'll need a power steering cooler.
