Zach, it's always about ****ing with you...

Auto FTL!

Broke, you've gotta be the only person on this board who'd prefer an auto over 5-speed. We've gotta get you on the bandwagon here. There's a reason everyone switches to 5-speed and it's not just to be cool.

Lastly, I'm not sure how long the slushbox will hold up to boost. The s13 auto is not known to hold a lot of torque. You'll probably regret boosting the KA without swapping the transmission.

just a quick fyi (found this thread again while looking for an old pic):

the slush box is holding up amazingly *knock on wood*.

LOTS AND LOTS of events: everything from autox to hpde over the past year. Slowly but steadily moving up the autox raw time chain (still mid pack right now, but that's more driver fault than car fault).

it's about time for a major maintenance month or two (removing a/c since it's now busted, redoing brakes, potentially new turbo setup, new body kit, etc). Car should look & run way better than it does now before end of the year.

yea, there was another thread I had - have the current/"old" setup since september. took a couple months to really get used to it. then friend street tuned it a little & had to start learning how to drive it all over again. then changed out the differential beginning of summer & that took another month to readjust too, lol.

turbo & misc thread: zerothread?id=379495

Dexter, yea, I've had a few posts here & there. The car looks the same for the most part, except a lil mishap @ one of the events earlier this summer.

here she is w/ the enkei's earlier this year:

then this happened @ Lone Pine Time Trials in May/June - pushed it too hard @ the wrong time & went off course:

it was a good thing this was only a front half bumper, else the 400 mile trip home would have been very interesting, haha.

And of course, a few vids:

autox earlier this year (haven't had a more recent video because of vid setup issues during autox, but I'll have a newer one soon):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY1lW7eC7qc

ran Streets of Willow (CCW direction) for the first time in June - not very fast at all (this was one month after above incident, so I'm deciding to take things a lil easy), but I had fun:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XolbHdngU7Q

then went to a kart track the following week that they let you run your car on, lol (Adam's Motorsport Park for the So Cal ppl) - again, not very fast, rather average time, but it was an interesting mix up:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emBrWfhkLA8

Wow, you must have really gone back into the archives if you are referring to the paper I wrote back in 2004 for a writing class. I doubt I have it around anymore, but it was geared more toward broad overview of turboing than any application specific stuff for the 240sx.

There are plenty of books/forum stickies/etc that you can get better info from.

QV, I just got a chance to watch some of your vids.

That instructor was annoying... I hope they aren't all like that.

Anyways, I can't help but smile when I see your helmet... I love your helmet.

He's actually my favorite instructor. We've known each other for a couple years now, so he knows the best way I learn. I usually ask him to speak aloud and tell me what he's thinking while running, it helps A LOT. The only reason I even went to that "track" event was because he told me he was instructing.

One of the main reasons I uploaded that video was because I noticed a lot of beginners don't ask for instructors. Hopefully I'll get some clearer video once I get my car sorted out & head back there for some fun.

I had driven a couple session by myself to see how I would do. During & after his instruction, I easily knocked off 2 seconds without even going 10/10 effort.

And in fact, if you go to the Evolution AutoX School (one of the most famous autox schools in the US), one of the things they teach you in the 2nd phase (there's 3 phases or so) is to speak out loud when you are driving through a course; the idea being something along the lines of "think it, say it, do it".

And I love my helmet too, THANKS :-D Gives you a reason to run top-down, hee hee.
