Before anyone freaks out... the pictures are of Japanese RHD cars. LHD version for the states will have different orientation on the wrap around rear and door opening.

I don't think they look bad at all, but as I expected, Nissan has changed a lot of the little details that made the previous generation Cube so quirkily attractive.

I miss the black A-pillars that gave the glass a full wraparound look.

It also looks quite a bit bigger than the 2nd gen Cube in side-by-side pictures:

I dunno...to me it looks like a car you'd ride at the fair on the little track that you can steer yourself until the middle part hits and throws you back the other way.

I agree. I was very excited about the Cube, until it was redesigned for the US market... the old Cube was a very nice looking vehicle... the new one? Hideous.

I think the Nissan Cube is awesome...of course I'll have to go through the process of test driving and seeing it in person.

The cube, versa and 370z will be my combo version of the Scion Xa, Xb & Tc

i think the cube looks way better than the scion Xb... i hate scions... although i did have an Xa for 2 weeks... so is coming with the MR18DE in the US?

The only Scion I've ever liked is the Tc. The new Xb's don't look as bad as the first generation...but I still hate the center mounted gauges.

My fiance (girlfriend at the time) rented a Echo due to her car being repaired. I drove it one night and freaked out when I looked down and saw nothing but darkness at where the gauges should be.

I will probably switch to the cube in a year's time just for the heck of it. For the haters... If you read the car blogs regularly, there are plenty of people out there who think the Versa is ugly too. And you should reserve judgment until you've had a chance to see it in person and "kick the tires". I had a bad reaction when I saw early confidential images, but it's grown on me and won me over two days ago when I saw it up close at the press day in LA. It's quite charming. The interior quality and instrument lighting is on a different level than the Versa, and that's the only comparison I will make. The two cars are very different and are aimed at different tastes. Obviously, if you were into boxy cars, you'd be on a Scion board, not here. On its own, it's a very nice little car with no shortage of personality and potential. It will sell like hot cakes. And, unlike the Versa, it has the after market's attention.

Since the two share the same engine... you should be glad the cube is here.
