Kenwood Stereo Receiver with Scosche Dash Kit without trim bezel

Receiver with trim bezel just sitting on it. Bezel won't fit with Scosche Dash Kit for some reason. I think it looks better with trim piece, but don't know what to do. It's too big. Any ideas, suggestions?

Overall, very happy with my small mods....will get that tubing to install around windows and door frames next to try and help with wind noise, as well as insolite for spare tire wheel well. Also looking to get OEM fog lights installed since someone on here did say the 2010 S was pre-wired(hope that's true).

Congratulations! Great Job on the mods. That's a sick wax job!...You can't get a more mirror like finish than that! :) Must be that special stuff you got at walmart! Look better if the front was tinted though. :yesnod

Thanks. Yes, the wax from Wal-Mart is awesome...Autoglym HD. Pretty long lasting too considering I waxed it almost a month and a half ago now. Makes it much easier to wash. Been using Duragloss Aquawax too since last weekend...it helps when drying off. Basically you can just spray it onto the wet car(after I wash with Meguiar's Gold Class shampoo) and dry off with microfiber waffle weave towel. Really helps to boost the wax protection and shine as welll as combating those water spots.

Definitely going to get front windows tinted...just haven't gotten around to it. Been more worried about the stereo. Really happy with the sound from that Kenwood! Makes the factory speakers sound awesome, but I bet if I got some new speakers it would sound even better! Gotta work on getting those doors sealed properly though and cutting down on some of that wind/road noise. Kinda disappointed in the Rogue on that front. My GF bought a 2010 F-150 Crew Cab about a week before I got my Rogue and that truck rides super quiet!

Planning on the OEM fog lights too. Was also looking at some wheels and tires, but that'll be a long way off. Basically going for my best bang for the buck :)

Another comment. Your right the trim bezel looks better on. One of my suggestions is that you could get some of that (stick-on door edge trim). Not the type that covers both side of the edge but the ones you see that sticks on top. I don't know if you seen them or know what I'm talking about but I am sure you seen them at one time. They also come in 24 inches. Oh yah, at pep boys you can get a roll of trim but it won't keep stuff in since it just sticks on the outside. The door protector would cover the edge a bit which would be useful to keep stuff from sliding out the cubbie.

You probably figure out by now that the trim would be placed around the cubbie hole to EQUALIZE with the look of the stereo. Yah, I know a crappy joke. :) So yes, basically frame the lower compartment to balance with the Kenwood. It's an option.

The edge trim might not be the same width but at least lower compartment is framed visually which might look better. While there are many sizes of trim at Pep Boys.

Thanks for the tip Casper. Yes, I agree it looks better with the trim on, however that trim piece is not snapped on or anything...it's just resting on top of the receiver. It won't fit onto the receiver with the Scosche for some reason. If you look to the right of the stereo in the pic of the trim piece...in between the stereo and the trim, you'll notice a gap. If I place the trim on center, there is a small gap on both sides.

I was going to contact Kenwood b/c I thought the trim piece included with stereo was too large or something but my installer(best friend's boyfriend) said that the piece isn't meant to be used when using a dash kit...Metra or Scosche. Is this correct?

Not sure what you mean by the trim you're talking about? Do you mean like what you used on the back hatch around the window?

No not the one I used on the hatch, its more of the "push on strip-door edge protector" like this:

Not the U-shape one I used on the cargo hatch:

Anyways, you seem on the right road. Perhaps ask your installer friend for any more suggestions too. I'm sure you will come up with some type of modification to your liking. :luck:

PS- I know you might be low on money after the mods., but if you have any extra money lying around, I suggest you upgrade to the Husky Liner rear mats to get better coverage. I know you already paid for those expensive Nissan mats, but the only reason I say this is because since you bought front mats and a cargo mat that protects really well, I assume you would want to do the same for the rear area. :wavey:

The fifth picture shows the rear mat (its just a single mat, which leaves the center bare) personally i opted for the weathertech digital fit mats for the front and rear :) but they can be expensive

Yes, the Weathertech's are expensive but they provide superior protection. They are very durable too... mine are 2 years old and still look great.

USA: $180 http://www.weathertech.com/store/mvprod ... &Year=2008
Canada: $220 http://www.weathertech.ca/store/mvprodu ... &Year=2008

Nice mats ya'll, but no one ever rides in the backseat. Heck, no one usually rides in the passenger seat LOL I mainly just drive to and from work. On the weekends we take the GF's truck.

The Nissan mats weren't that exepensive. Like $60 on Ebay. May one day look into the Husky rear mats. Really have no need for the $180 Weathertechs...doesn't snow down here and I have OCD so I'm not getting into the Rogue with dirty shoes regardless of the mats I have.

Thanks for all of the suggestions though!!
