Pics of my smoked tail lights!

i did them yesterday and here are some pics. if anyone has questions comments let me know. also if anyone knows how to get that mirror finish on them please let me know!



ya here are my steps if anyone cares.

1. remove and sand entire light to give it somthing to grip to. clean with some soapy water afterwards.2. spray verry light shades of Nite Shades allor 10 min to dry inbetween each coat (i did 4)3. a couple layers of clear coat (allow 1 hour inbetween each spray i did 3)4. put back on car tape off area around lights and sand with a 15oo grit sand paper keeping the area wet with a squirt bottle filled with a little palmolive and water. after then 1500 grit follow up with a 2000 grit sand paper still keeping it wet!5. clean and dry, put some rubbing compound on, let it haze, buff it off.6. finish up with some plastic polish (the pics above were before polish)7. step back and enjoy!

IMHO they look wayyyyy to damn dull. You are missing something that you did not do right, and I bet you didn't spray wet coats of clear, but rather dry or semi dry coats of it. No worries though, as I am sure you can fix it, looks good though other than that. Good Work!

looks good man little dull though, I put my lights on a few days ago i got them through versa speed though. ill post pics when my girlfriend finds her cameras memory card in which she somehow lost.

next weekend i will clear coat them again and hopefully they will get the shine i want. if not i will get them profesionaly clear coated.

i think they look pretty sickk. it would def be cooler if it was shinier but whatever i like them!

dupont sikkens makes an excellent automotive paint system. the clear is well...crystal clear. the body shop that painted both of my trucks used this clear. http://www.sikkens.net/
