the Fenders are metal both sets are OEM nissan...S15 in the front and S14 in the rear. The bumper is Vertex. The hood is unknown. the headlights are OEM. The conversion isn't done yet obvioulsy. Thanks to RbSilEighty for the intercooler i picked up this weekend. It's the Hybrid one...26" x 12" x 3" ... i think those are the dimensions. it's nice and shiney. The body shop is currently building a support brace for the intercooler and front bumper...all out of tubular steel baby. Anyway, this is it so far. Anyone wanna put me in a magazine :) heheheh.

yea, the back part (from the door jam to mid fender) is S14, and the front part (from the headlight back to the mid fender) is S15. I just couldn't bring myself to use fiberglass fenders. And i didn't weld any of it. I can weld...but not like that. My body shop did all the cutting, welding, and shaping.

That Hybrid (appropriate name for you bud) intercooler you picked up from my house should fit quite nicely in there. It looks really good!

You should get the shop to spray those center caps black while it's there.

I wonder if the GP Sports sides and rear would look good with that front?

the GPs look a little too flaired in the front and back, but the JICs look really nice...minimal. I gotta figure something out soon.

Well, between Hybrid and myself, we have found that it is not actually a Vertex front bumper. If anyone knows who makes this bumper please let us know. It was sold to him under the impression it was Vertex.

the fenders are perfectly smooth....there are no lines at all from the conversion. heheh....i wouldn't pay the body shop for them if they weren't perfect....i've paid more than enough for them to be custom made. I'll get some closer pics for you, most likely after it is painted.

That very nice looking hybrid, I am glad to see you did the fenders that way. And even though the front bumber is no Vertex I still like it. I think the GP sides and rear would look great with it. I can't wait to go back to SC.

HEY, tony...so sig drug you over to the nico bords eh?

Yea, i'm a little dissapointed about the bumper, but i think it looks good anyway. I'll figure out who makes it one day.Come back out here anytime. We can play PGR2 forever...or GT4 if it ever comes out.

And Sigs motor came in today.

Nice to have you on the boards Blue. Why don't you go ahead and post a pic of your sick Z33 Track Ed. w/ C West CF lip. I still think you should pull the VQ and go with a RB26DETT! Hey, the value of the VQ would almost pay for everything.

Yep, the motor came today. I wrote them about the starter, and they are sending one out tomorrow to the shop Hybrid. All in all, I'd have to say I got one heck of a deal.

Hybrid, I really would go with either Vertex or INGS+1 for the sides and rear.

Rb, I dunno about that RB26DETT, for the price of that swap I could fully build the VQ and buy a Greddy TT kit. And make more power.

Here are some pics.... http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....51737

I would say so. I would consider the seats from one for my car if it weren't for the side airbags.

They are pretty good for being a stock seat, though most of the holding comes from the side bolsters. The bottom portion of the seat could use some more bolster I think. Also, I think they weight about 35 pounds each so they will be replaced eventually too. Over all its good though.

the fenders where custom made...so i had to buy S15 fenders for $300, then pay to have them made and fitted, another $500. The headlights were $600 or $700, and the bumper was $350. and then there is shipping on all that. A body shop is doing the work. and they are being slack, they still have to build the support bracing for the front bumper and intercooler. The headlights were fit by cutting out part of the radiator support. right in front of the battery on the right side, and the same place on the left.

just the S15 conversion, or my whole project? If you mean just the conversion...then the prices i have listed above, blus about $300 for an intercooler/bumper bracing.

Very nice work. I have a few questions...if you don't mind.

First of all, where did you get the OEM metal fenders? I had a pair that I sold to a friend here in Georgia, and he has in turn sold them to someone else...and now I am kicking myself in the nuts because the conversion fenders fit like ***. You didn't by any chance purchase those fenders from a guy names Brent in Douglasville, GA did you? If not, where did you get them, if you don't mind me asking...

Secondly, when the body shop mated the S14 and S15 fenders together, did they overlap the fender parts on top of each other and weld it, or was there a precise cut at the union where the fenders came together, and then welded? It seems from the pictures, the S14 fender was overlapped slightly onto the S15 fender, and then welded. Is this the case?

Next, the headlights...I have sized mine up, and it seems that they attach directly to the S14 core support...correct? I have cut out my core support for the rear of the projector beam, and was just curious how everything lines up.

And finally, I am interested in learning more about what the body shop is fabricating for you for a bumper and FMIC support. I was under the impression that the bumper didn't need any additional support, but maybe I am wrong.

I am in North Atlanta, and would love to learn more about how you did your conversion before I delve into my own. Do you by any chance have detailed build-up pictures? I would pay for a CD-ROM full of build-up photos. Or perhaps a road trip to come see the car?

If you don't want to respond here, my e-mail address is [email protected]. Thank you so much in advance.

Scott

the fenders were cut precicely where they joined. Also, the S14 fender was cut and reshaped along the top edge to match the S15 fender's lines.

The headlights bolt right up, and if you have the oem S15 fenders, they bolt right up to the fender as well as the S14 core support, so they don't move at all.

I bought my fenders from a guy in Cali that tried the conversion by cutting the back edge of the fenders, and messing up horribly. Luckily, i didn't need the part that he destroyed.

I wanted the supports built into the bumper. The intercooler is quite large, and the front bumper brace has been removed. So the supports they are building will hold the intercooler up and give my bumper more support as well. With the bumper brace removed, there would only be about 6 bolts holding the bumper on. and all of them would have been at the top. now there is a bar that is bent alont the bottom of the bumper that hooks into the support system and bolts to the bumper. It mainly protects the intercooler and piping. It's like a skeleton behing the bumper.

I will be in ATL after the conversion is complete...so in a few weeks. i will have all the pictures posted on showcarssuck.com in the next few days. you can e-mail me if you have any more questions.[email protected]

you are more than welcome to come down here if you have the time. the guy that owns the body shop is a friend of mine, and he does REALLY REALLY good work.

Cole
