WD-40 or Goo-Gone (Simple Green might work nicely, as well) and a plastic scraper, like an old credit/debit card should do the trick. Just use light pressure so you don't gouge the clear coat.Woody64 wrote:Any advice on getting the dealer tag off? They put it on before I got a chance. Very easy, take a hair dryer, or heatgun very close to the sticker. Go back and forth and just peel it off as it heats up. Then after its off throw some wax on it to remove the glue that usually gets left behind.Woody64 wrote:Any advice on getting the dealer tag off? They put it on before I got a chance. Glad he is facing the possibility of some harsh consequences and you finally had everything taken care of financially.Woody64 wrote:The driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license, DUI, leaving the scene of accident, etc... The owner of the vehicle, gave me a hard time, but finally got there's after claiming the car was stolen, the investigation found the driver to be a "permissible driver". So they had to pay $3000 in body work, plus $500 for the rental car I had for a month, and from what the Farmer's Insurance Agent said, their "policy is no longer active", which I believe means they were dropped.
Long rough way to start the ownership of my very first brand new car, but it is back, the panel was replaced, so it is just as new as it can be after an accident, and I have high ambitions to what it will be when I am done...
That is very true. If they want to put there name on the car they should pay you to advertise for them. My dealership does not put their name on the vehicles. They simply have the name on the license plate frame/cover which I only had them put in the front. I already had a cover for the back. But there frames are actually nice. I don't mind it. As long as its not something permanently stuck to my car I'm happyBlueMango wrote:I hate the tagging too! The first dealer I visited to get my V wanted to charge me for removal of the tag because it was already on there. I told them that it was Bull**** and that they should pay me to leave it on there. They asked me what my reasoning was. I told them that it was a form of advertising and if they wanted me to advertise for them they should pay me for every hour I drive my car. $20 an hour for a minimum of 40 hours a month and I would keep records and send them a bill for any additional hours I spent "advertising" their dealership. They removed the tag but were so rude in the process I backed out of the whole deal and got my V at another dealership that didn't believe in tagging the cars.
