From what i have heard by streaching a tire there is less sidewall flex , thus giving you better feel for when you are about to break traction .

Yes, but you will reach that breaking point more quickly which is not ideal for a lot of types of driving.

i put a 265/35 on my 9.5 and it was squared up, so i dont see the need for those puppies.

You do not fail. You are the opposite of fail.

Those 285s look like sex. I'll bet its a little harder to light them up now, right?
Agreed, Wide wheels need wide tires. Looks good I got 275-40-17's going on my 17x9+35 volks

Never liked 962 before your car. That is very clean and very legit. Nice work. Built SR + big rubber + stock aero = pimpness.

OK my rear wheels are 18x9.5 +20mm... i rolled my wheel wells slightly but no pull.. it doesn't rub at all. My front wheels are 18x8.5 +30 I'm running 225's on it now but gonna try a 245 and see how it looks.... this car handles as good as my evo did on the back roads

Your stance is very nice. I would have to agree with the general consensus of lower your car.. It looks like youre about to go drag racing or something with tires that wide =) Pretty beast though they look nice. What gen evo did you have? Thas crazy your 240 can handle like awd evo, i wanna see like some skidpad comparisons ha

NEEDS MOAR LOWER!!!!!

I don't like that I can fit my whole body between your tire and fender but if you like it, it's all good.

Yeah definately need to sit those wheel wells right down on the meaty bastards.

Also....SPECS!. Pretend its the fitment thread ( maybe you should post there ) - do you just have stance coils, or are there arms, spacers or particular alignment angles making that monster traction happen?

I just got my wheels in with the used tires on them.

I'm running Staggered 5Zigen FN01R-C's -

Front: 17x9 | +15 | 225-45-17Rear: 17x10 | +12 | 245-40-17Obviously these Tires Are Stretched - Not my choice!!

I'm looking into getting some new tires myself, but I don't think the 285 is necessary, nor do I think it will fit with the low offset.

My car is lowered about 3" on SILK-ROADS RM-IA8's right now, and I barely rolled the rear fenders to make sure I had clearance on those 10" rears.

After reading over this thread several times, I still have to agree that another 1" drop would make your car look 110x better with those 285's on there. Question for you- Where did you buy your 285's? I've been using http://www.DiscountTireDirect.com for years, and never had a single complaint - but you've got me curious.
